Communication is one of the most important areas for most business. You need to look and sound professional to give prospective customers the confidence to buy from you. Most business' will have what is called a PBX system (Private Branch Exchange). As a small or home business owner this this may well not be affordable at least at the begining but dont worry there are many companies out there who can handle this virtually for you.

You can have local numbers in any state, freephone numbers, voicemail etc. all accessible on line. Your voice mail can be emailed, your calls can be transferred to your cell or home. They can even be set u to divert to different numbers at different times of the day. You can send and receive faxes also.

Dont forget also you have an internet connection and VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) will allow you to use your broadband connection to make calls for free or overseas calls for the price of a local call. Skype is an example of VOIP.

With regard to mail, you may find yourself in a situation that you could benefit from having a different mailing address in your own city or an address in another city. Again there are companies that will accept your mail for you, UPS, FedEx tec. Mail can be scanned and or opened on request and forwarded to whereever you want. You can be in China and have your mailing address in New York.
